The UK’s largest independent bus operator, McGill’s Bus Group, has joined international development organisation, Transaid, as its latest corporate partner – furthering the charity’s longstanding association with the passenger transport sector.

An initial three-year agreement builds upon the company’s sponsorship of the upcoming Scottish Transaid Dinner, set to take place at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel & Spa near Grangemouth on 4 June 2026.

Ralph Roberts, Chairman for McGill’s Bus Group, says: “We’re really looking forward to getting involved with all Transaid’s events and fundraisers, especially the dinner, which is set to be a highlight of the industry calendar. It is very clear that the work carried out by Transaid and its local partners is making a tangible difference in sub-Saharan Africa, and we’re excited to help in any way we can.”

McGill’s Bus Group joins 31 corporate partners from across the transport and logistics industry, sharing time, expertise and resources to support Transaid’s road safety and access to healthcare initiatives.

Joan Aitken, Chair of Transaid, and former Scottish Traffic Commissioner, says: “McGill’s Bus Group’s commitment to innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to transform lives through safe, available and sustainable transport. Bringing on board such a prominent name in passenger transport to sponsor the Scottish Transaid Dinner is a tremendous honour – to now welcome them as a corporate partner is a milestone moment. This kind of support is essential to making our programmes so successful and reflects Transaid’s wish to involve more transport operators and their people in supporting our work.”

Based in Greenock, McGill’s Bus Group is a family-owned business, founded in 1933. With a team of 1,800 employees, it operates services across the central belt, Dundee, Aberdeen, and Inverness, including city and rural bus services, intercity coach travel, city tours, day trips and private hire.

McGill’s Bus Group joins The Malcolm Group, the RHA and Logistics UK in sponsoring the 2026 Scottish Transaid Dinner. Tables of 10 at the event are priced at £1,000, or there’s the option to purchase individual tickets at £100 per person.
