Depot Engineering Manager - Coatbridge

McGill's is Scotland's largest independent bus company, with depots in Greenock, Inchinnan, Barrhead, Johnstone and Coatbridge.

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Engineering Manager at McGill's Coatbridge depot.

Managing the engineering workshops, you will ensure all health and safety requirements are met and that all vehicles are repaired to the highest standard. Managing a medium sized team, you will be responsible to ensure all equipment is maintained to the requirement standard.

Main responsibilities:
  • Manage the vehicle inspection program & carry out pre-MOT inspections
  • Complete inspection, defect, mileage, KPI, wages and audit reports to appropriate departments on a weekly basis
  • Liaise with operations department to provide daily peak vehicle requirements
  • Organise shift patterns to provide optimum cover for the business needs
  • Carry out audits on vehicles
  • Ensure company records and depot equipment is within compliance to McGill's standards and assist in the smooth managerial operation of the engineering department as required by senior management within the budget requirements.
Hours worked will be based on the requirements of the job, minimum of 48 hour week.
