We have an exciting role within our Commercial Team for an enthusiastic and committed individual as a Commercial and Planning Officer for McGill’s.This role is based at our Greenock Head Office and reports to the Commercial Manager.

Applicants for this role will have previous experience of working within the transport industry and be looking to further develop their career in scheduling, planning and/or the bus industry. You will be required to work within a team but also independently. Deadlines and working to a time sensitive schedule are key to this role. Accuracy and a methodical approach are essential to ensure that data, schedules and mileage information is produced in partnership with our Commercial Managers. You must be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel. Experience of Omnibus Suite scheduling software is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Through supporting your growth and development, we will encourage your understanding of fare structures and improve your knowledge of how tenders and contracts are costed.

This role would suit a graduate from operational or administration type disciplines, but would also appeal if you have previous experience within a similar scheduling/planning or transport role.

This is a vital role within the business and is key to the successful planning of our timetables and network for our vehicles therefore attention to detail and practical application of plans will be essential.
