McGill's is making the most of Summer with its open-top bus!

McGill's is bringing a ray of sunshine to the shoppers, commuters and the general travelling public of Renfrew of Inverclyde by allocating their newly refurbished open-top tour bus to local bus services.

The open-topper is being used on local bus services on sunny days to bring a little bit of sunshine into our customers travels and to help promote McGill's 'Make the Most of Summer' campaign!

People of all ages -especially kids- love sitting on the top deck of a double decker, but when that double decker is open topped and the sun's shining, it's even better! The open topper has been used on McGill's service 17 which runs between Paisley and Glasgow and the response from customers has been fantastic. Not only have they enjoyed the experience of taking in the sun and the sights, they've also enjoyed the relaxing music and free goody bags we've handed out on trips.

The vehicle was recently refurbished by Bus World in Lancashire and features comfortable piped leather seats, smart brush steel grab-rails and a clear Perspex canopy to protect the front rows of upstairs seats from the elements on those not so sunny, West of Scotland days. The eye-catching bus with its distinctive livery of Clyde landmarks and local luminary James Watt was on display at the recent ALBUM conference in Blackpool.

As well as utilising our open-top bus, the 'Make the Most of Summer' marketing campaign has also seen child all-day tickets across the McGill's network reduced to just £1 for the duration of the school Summer holidays, and the introduction of a child weekly ticket for £5.

Isabelle Murray, Marketing Manager said: "These great value fares will allow parents and grandparents to enjoy great value days out with younger children to places like Glasgow and traditional seaside destinations such as Largs and Dunoon, as well as giving more freedom to independent teens who will no longer have to rely on the taxi of mum and dad when they want to go out and about with their friends during the Summer break."
