Bus drivers goodwill saves dream holiday trip

Two McGill's bus drivers assisted in helping a woman make her holiday, after she left her bag containing her passports, euros and flight tickets at a bus stop in Paisley.

McGill's driver, Robert Doherty, was operating the Company's 757 service, en route to Glasgow Airport, where Sheila and her husband were headed to board their flight to Indonesia, when they realised they did not have their hand luggage , and had left it in Paisley.

Robert said: "Sheila alerted me she had not lifted her bag, and that it contained her documents and euros she needed for her holiday. I tried to make her feel calm and told her there are good people out there who would hand in her bag. I was really concerned and hoped they would be able to make their flight."

"I took Sheila and her husband back into Paisley, and gave them my name and driver number so they could let me know they made their holiday."

Once back in Paisley, McGill's driver, David Wright had luckily found the bag and handed it into the Inchinnan depot, where Sheila and her husband were able to collect in a taxi.

Sheila wrote to say: "To Robert and David, I can't thank you both enough. I can't believe we managed to go on holiday, if it wasn't for your kindness and goodwill we may not have been able to go."
