Bus at first sight!

McGill's provided a journey with a difference - by chauffering a local bride and her bridal party to her wedding on our service 54, Neilston to Paisley bus!

Our Barrhead depot received an unusual request from the Mother of the Bride, Maggie Buckley, to take her daughter, Emma to her wedding on our 54 bus. We were delighted be part of Emma's big day and on Saturday 6 August, McGill's took Emma and her bridal party to the wedding ceremony, at the Travellers Rest in Neilston.

Maggie said: "McGill's has played a big part in Emma's life - she travelled on the bus to school and then work - and so she decided she wanted to take a McGill's bus to her wedding. I have to be honest and say that my heart sank initially when Emma said she wanted to take the bus, but I have to say that, thanks to David Taylor, and driver, Shona Sellars, it turned out really great and I can't thank McGill's enough for making Emma's day special."

Barrhead Depot Manager, David Taylor said: "This has to be one of the most unusual requests I have ever had as a depot manager, but we were delighted to be a part of one of the biggest days of Emma's life. Her Mum, Maggie, had told me McGill's had never let her down before and we were humbled. My team and I decorated the bus with white ribbons to surprise Emma. We would like to wish Emma and Bas a happy life together."
